surprisingly got a sail this afternoon at manly. was a solid 15kts in the beginning, but dropped of and was a bit gusty for the rest of the afternoon, either way spent most of the time planing so pretty happy.

I'm thinking maybe currumbin tomorrow? though I have no idea what the surf is like. Shearwater will be my backup plan :D, haven't sailed there is YONKS!

p.s. does anyone else find that duckgybes are easier to plane through in light wind then normal gybes? must figure out what it is so my normal gybes get better.

what sail were you using? I thought about doing a few back and forth laps, but manly is usually noticeably windier then wello in a NE'er and I didn't want to have to slog back if the wind dropped.

7.0 Wave sail, but i was going with Shawn and he struggled to get planning for the first hour. My Narrow old school board is very easier to get planning on. Later in the day 5oclock ish wind picked up and shawn left me behind :P

EDIT; shawn was using 7.0 freeride

had a great sail at Manly (after work) from 4.30 till 6pm on the 7m and slalom board. really flattened out after 530 but remained about 15 knots.
