Did anyone sailing at Golden Beach today (23rd May) pick up a 460 mast?
I left it behind (
what an idiot
) and only realised when I was unpacking back in Brisbane.
If you picked it up can you leave a reply and when I pick it up a few beer may come your way
.
What have you left back at the carpark before?
I'd like to here some stories to cheer me up
, surely nobody has left their board behind...have they???
Was sailing at GB yesterday, left around 3.30pm, didnt see any mast laying around then, hope you get it back.
Years ago I left my 5.3m sail at GB, luckily someone picked it up and I got it back a few days later, it was quite a new sail too.
Left a fairly new RS5 standing up against a tree at the Grand Hotel, never seen it again, only stood it up to let the water drain out something i do not normally do, changed the routine.......thats what got me $1000..............gone. Having said that i know it wouldnt be a fellow windsurfer probably the local hobo or council.
I've left surfboards behind before now, luckily still there when I went back a short time later.
Left my harness at Shearwater never to be seen again.
Easy enough to do, that's for sure !!
Even better, I forgot to tie down all my gear on the flat-top trailer I used to use.
Had driven about 5km and the bloke behind me was flashing and tooting.
I checked my mirrors to see all my gear flying off all over the place.
What a tool !!!!!!!!!!
Hey bud give luke a call at kite action, through experience much like yours i discovered if the locals find gear or other windsurfers for that matter they usually drop it of at the shop 0754913065
luckily for me I don't leave stuff at the carpark.
However, I routinely rock up without crucial pieces of gear such as masts... boardies... boom... harness.... all have been forgotten at least once. Forgetting to bring a towel in winter is a real killer as well.
I've yet to forget to bring a board, but I'm sure its only a matter of time before I roll up to unload my car and realise that my boards are still in the garage.
Thanks for the advice Lee1972.
I gave Luke a call today, someone has picked up the mast and has it in their van.
Hope to get it back soon.![]()
My faith in humanity has been restored.
I'm sure it won't be the last time I leave stuff behind, I would forget my head if it wasn't screwed on!
Thanks
Hey bud im up here in Caloundra now, get them to give me a call and i will pick it up for you and then you can grab it from me in Brisbane on monday if you want
Picked it up on Sunday and had a surf at Moffats.
Thanks for the offers and stories of absent mindeness.
I left a couple of beers behind for the honest bod that handed hte mast in.
Thanks and see you all out on the water the next time that it's windy, on weekend, when I have no chores to do, when I'm not having to work, when I don't have to go to a wedding, or funeral, or birthday party, or christmas shopping etc... etc..
