For Saturday BOM has "W/SW winds 15/20 knots, easing below 10 knots in the afternoon".

Anyone keen to try The Spit on GC? Can't travel far due to obligations (god damn it).

yes it is much cooler. However I do wear my boardies outside of my flannel tracky dacks whilst sitting on the rear deck of my house in the sun throwing down a few sick stitches, gnarly man!

Hello there,
new to windsurfing-have tried it a couple of times on some borrowed gear and enjoying it.
As this thread seems to be about wind and brisbane-does anyone think thompsons beach will be ok for learning on sunday afternoon? Or does anyone have some suggestions for a spot that people might be so I can observe what they do correctly(maybe unlikely with the wind forecast)?
I tried there on tuesday morning and made some progress (yes, I really am beginning) Also, are there many options in Moreton Bay between redlands and wynumm at low tide?
anyway, I look forward to learning more

Hello Drew

Only place I've sailed in Brisbane is Wellington Point. Don't know what it's like for a beginner because every time I've sailed there it is howling and very cold. Not good beginner weather, but good for a look see.

I'm sure one of the Brisbane guys can advise further.

Hi Drew,

If we get light southerlies as forecast Thompsons beach will be ideal. High tide in the arvo too so you wont have walk your gear too far.
