it is getting close - will have a look at the broadwater shortly - might have ago at Currumbin on sunday - I have never sailed there in a Northerly - do you go off the beach south of the rocks & tack up to the river mouth or what? - at the weekends I have a go at North Kirra in the northerly - you can run down the gutter inside the break, get on the plane & then cut through the break at speed when a spot appears or gybe away if it doesnt
