Reaching out to the end of Sovereign Islands and back, lit up on a 5.9 and 110l freeride gear. No boats, just a pod of dolphins to avoid.

The sunlight occasionally peaked through the grey clouds to create an aquamarine foreground. Super high tide meant crystal clear water for a change.

One of the best sails I've ever had. 5 big smileys.

Works best on a high tide like today.

i used to sail there occasionally panda with my formula kit at high tide. nice big open area and always had a good session.

not sure if it's my imagination but i always felt the SE winds more consistent there than shearwater?

Half your luck i was at what i think is called The Train, end of smith/north street. It was gusty, and just not enough wind to have a good session.

I met a kiter there once. Helped him launch. Hit the same tree twice, went elsewhere. They can't launch from there : )

nice. was worth the sail.

it has the longest runs and has manageable side-on chop which would probably suit the slalomers in a winter southerly (rather than the shearwater's ramps)

grass to rig on and a little sandy beach

unfortunately no tap or sh!tter, unless EP knows something i don't

Tap and ****ter at next beach South:

www.google.com:443/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode&q=Centenary+Drive,+Hollywell,+Queensland,+Australia&sll=-27.896591,153.405447&sspn=0.01318,0.022531&ie=UTF8&hq&hnear=Centenary+Dr,+Hollywell+Queensland+4216,+Australia&ll=-27.895273,153.403291&spn=0.00659,0.011265&z=17

Also has grass rigging area, but has those angular concrete reenforcement thingies to walk down to get to sand. Balance required (but really not that hard).

Again, you want a decent tide to sail there in a S/SE as that enormous sand bank is actually dry at low tide... hmmm. Outgoing best of course/same as Shearwater.

Also very nice in a NE where you just sail the boat channel, same direction as the boats.
