Where / What is the best option to buy Go Pro HD Helmet Camera and accessories. I gather its cheaper O/Seas on line, if so where? Also what is the risk and is it worth it?

I preordered mine direct from gopro gopro.com/en/au/ . I scored a 10% discount, all up at the time it ended up being $330 to my door for the HD Helmet Hero.

We have the cameras in store with every accessory in the line. Buying overseas might save a little bit but when things go wrong you might have more difficulties than you wish. We offer same day delivery in the Brisbane region. Let us know if we can help.

i paid $370 from photocontinental (mt gravatt) for the same as swoosh

u need to be somewhat careful about which large capacity SD card u get (especially cheap highspeed ebay specials). i bought $60 16gig sandisk ultra SD card (only class 4) locally and it works flawlessly for endless recordings in all recording modes, if that is any help to u

Go Pro had a big stand at the NAB Show in Vegas this year, and let me say, those things were walkin out the door.

I had a play with the 3D HD version which is very cool. They had some W/S footage on a samsung 3D TV and it was pretty damn amazing. The 3D version is simply two cameras correctly aligned in one waterproof case, operating off one on/off switch.

As someone who plays with broadcast cameras all day, I'm pretty impressed by the dynamic range of these little buggers. I have some Maui footage on an SD version I bought cheap over there, and the skies just never seem to blow out. Looking forward to sticking this on the front of my SUP when the temps warm up a bit...

Have fun with it.

I found a crack in the hinge of my case, took a photo and emailed it to gopro. New case arrived in the mail a week later no questions asked. My experience with warranty issues, thats as good as it gets.

HD HERO Cameras (Enables upside/down video capture...Coming Soon--please see note below)
Attention Friends of GoPro! We ask for your patience and understanding. The firmware update for the HD HERO Camera is 99.99% complete. We are tweaking the final settings at this very moment. Our engineering team is 100% fully focused on releasing the update as soon as possible, we promise you this!

Several new features are included in this firmware update, along with the long awaited UP/UPd option. The reason for our delay pertains to one final round of refinements to this new feature set. Only the best will do, but this sometimes comes at the expense of an on-time release. Our sincerest apologies for the delay, but we are now only one small step from completion; we appreciate your ongoing patience and support!

this has been months. as advertised i'd like the one touch start/stop and usb port power. i wish they'd get their butts into gear and get this firmware out

Well, I just found a decent reason for buying a 3D TV. I have to admit after going to see them (again) yesterday things like sweeping vistas in nature documentaries and games, and now this, really do suit the 3D format. I don't think I'll ever be convinced good films need 3D though.

As for upsied down: can't you flip in post?

The Upside down feature might be handy for people who never edit their stuff, but just play it back into their big TV using the USB/AV cable.
