obs say 20+ knots eh?
but not a leaf moving on trees here at home, and 15knot ne usually feels like a mini cyclone at my house
how'd you guys get on? i'm down here at the moment and it's windy for 5 minutes then calm.
i hit wello early this morning and got 12-15 knots all to myself on the 6.4m ![]()
wind went SE on me which led to a long walk back along the bank
from the moment i hit the water i had about 30minutes of 15-20knots and then it dropped right off. the nice thing about ene is there's virtually no annoying chop at the SW (even with 15+ wind)
hi Raf - if there's wind before 2pm i'll do KFC, otherwise i'll go back to the shearwater
my inlaws today (live on the goldy) were telling how much wind there's been this year. i couldn't explain to them the pain we've all been feeling.
i'm looking to hit wello again tomorrow to catch the high tide. fingers crossed some wind comes through.
my mates keep saying"you must be happy its been windy everyday" those Easterlys feel windy but no guts they need to be 25knts to get 15knts if that makes sense
^ yeah, explaining the difference between 8 knots, 12 knots and 15knots is difficult. to the non windsurfer anything over 5 knots is blowing. ![]()
...you could try telling them that it is not the speed of the wind that makes you plane but the power...and wind power is proportional to the cube of wind speed...so 20k knots has 8 times more power than 10 knots? ...confusing myself now.
lol,
i tried to convince them that global warming is man made over a couple of bottles of red and failed so i'm thinking the physics is not going to hold much weight. [}:)]
got a nice run on saturday from about 2 - 4 dead east - so was sailing down the chanel from train to the grand & back nice long runs on very flat water - low tide -on 7.4m & 150lt board -a little gusty but i have never sailed in that wind direction. long runs on flat water is nice.
