WANTED,

Broken masts, bit and pieces. Price at linear meter according to the percentage in carbon. Contact me by mp. Pick up on Brisbane Area only.

Get rid of your old broken mast, there is no use for it anymore. I offer to take care of it for some money. That would get you some beers for after the ride... (or to forget about your expensive broken mast).

Alternative question for the forum debate: If you don't want to get rid of them, what would you do with it?

Give that contact is via an MP, I would guess the plan is maybe to bury them on the beach and then claim the carbon tax credit for locking up carbon underground ??

They will be used for structures, experiments and cool stuff for our sailing cat. They are just raw material for us and we won't get it for a lot of money, it is still better than putting them into the bin... (recycling...)

And it's cool, they still will be gliding on the water in some ways... :)

And before you ask me more details, some examples of projects: trolley super light for my beloved windsurf stuff, davits, moth sailing dinghie, brackets, winch handle pockets, seat shaft support and so on.....

Knowing that, I'm sure some people will expect to sell their broken mast way to expensive but we won't offer more than 20-30 bucks for a broken 400 100%carbon mast, less for the others...

It's just some stuff to make for fun for us and even the result can be cool, it would be because of the know-how (and the hours spend on it) and not because it's an NP rdm full carb (snapped)....

It would get you some beer to enjoy, that's all we can do... :)

Do you want a broken carbon bike frame? The head tube and down tube are broken. The rear triangle and seat tube are sound and will support a 700c wheel for a trolly.

They make good mast extensions if you have the right sizes. But I'm guessing most people wouldn't be bothered.

This is probably a dumb question, but cant masts be mixed and matched?

Nope, different brands = different diameters, different bend curves, different ferrule arrangements.
