Just arrived in Bowen, after a great time at Kurrimine and a nice speed sail at Taylors Beach.
So what's the go here?
Looks like high tide is better?
And where to launch?
Saw a couple of kites out at the yacht club this arvo, but tide looked very low.
Hi Decrepit, check out page 6 on this forum. (bowen Thursday)
Can you give approx dates and places where you might be in the coming weeks. Iam sure a lot of people would like to have a sail with you.
Cheers Ray.
Hi Decrepit, sorry I did not reply sooner but shift work is a bummer sometimes.I was down there tue and wed and it blew on thurs. The guys sail from a rigging area called Eddie McCain place at front beach which is about 300 meters west of the old sailing club. The wind guru for Bowen is Wormy who will be out any time a blow come through.I'm sorry that I missed you but I am back in Townsville and work calls, its a pity you did not stop for a sail here as we had some good wind and I'm always up for a blast to the island and back.
Very impressed with Burrum, great rigging area, (about 3 houses south of yacht club) and user friendly bump and jump conditions.
Unfortunately I over estimated wind strength and we slogged a bit.
G'Day Hooray,
Seems for the last year I've been asked if I know you, Lyn was even showing us pictures!
Mainly in realtion to Burrum, I guess.
OK, good idea, I'll start a new thread of where we may be.
Shame you missed bowen.thursday arvo was 30 plus.oh well.Joe Gavin and I had a blast.
I was away inTvlle day, sorry to have missed you.
Ho Wormy, yeah Joe was telling us about Thursday, reckoned that's why nobody else was around, "they're all too sore" he said.
