Got down there early this morning on the high tide. The wind was light but I had a few nice runs with the small waves. The contours of the bottom out there really make the waves sit up nicely and you get to really ride and enjoy them. A few jellies out there as well (although the steamer stopped them stinging).
I came in at around 11am and meet two guys waiting to go out (Chris and Will) I think that was their names, sorry guys if that was wrong. As I was packing up the wind picked up and with some encouragement from the guys I thought I would hit it again. Low and behold a front came through I thought I was in the middle of a cyclone, way beyond my level. These other guys then began to shine pulling forward loops with ease. Great to watch. Good stuff guys.
For those new to Beachmere its a great spot with sandy/mud bottom (no rocks or reef) and great waves as well. I will be back hopefully when its not that windy. ![]()
Hey mate, nice to meet you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Should have stayed for another hour though as it was an epic afternoon. Wind picked up to 25-30 and was fully powered on 5.0 and 87 liter quad. Awesome fun!
See you there again soon, Chris.
Awesome to hear that others are finding out about Beachmere. Yep it was definitely Chris and Will. I would have been there as well if my mast base wasnt 2 hours drive away!! grrrr... agh well! Beachmere is an amazing place when the wind comes in. We've been going there for many many years and still rate it as one of the best jumping spots (when its on like today) around south East QLD.
