after travelling across the country caravaning with the wife and kids,hanging to hit the coast,we came across Balgal beach,Rollingstone just north of Townsville.What a spot.with 15-20 knt cross on and waves, yes,not 4ft swells but 2ft wind swell but actually breaking.peeling on a bar and good enough for a few down the line turns.The only hesitation was afew reports of a 2m croc seen up the river.Has anyone else sailed here.
I have sailed a couple of beaches south of there at Toolakea and not had a problem but my son while kiting there came face to face with a rather large Tiger Shark.The area you are talking about has a reputation for crocs so be carefull.
