The Australia Youth Championships were conducted on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria 6th -10th January. Representing Queensland in the Bic Techno 293 class were three RQYS windsurfers, Emma Baillie, Jacob Whitford and Lara O'Brien.
Six races were sailed in the first two days in 20-25 knots SW-E winds. The last two days the wind abated and a further 4 races were completed in light variable North easterly winds.
Lara O'Brien won the girls class and was third overall in the combined boys and girls fleet.
Emma Baillie was 4th and Jacob Whitford was 5th.
Excellent work guys and congrats on the win Lara. Very well done in those high wind conditions, especially Lara given your size.
