How was Kirra today?

Fully powered in Byron today on a 6m. It was awesome! Had to be careful to dodge the turtles though. So many out there.

Thanks for the update Vando. Sounds like it was plenty windy there too.

It was so choppy/rough in Byron I couldn't imagine the slalom gear would have been much fun(but I'm not much good). Is it any smoother up at Kirra?

I have had a 20 year break from windsurfing and back then I was in Vicco(Torquay), only. It's going to take a while to try the spots up this way but looking forward to it. So far I have tried Ballina River, Flat rock and Shearwater in the southerlies. I have only tried Byron so far in the Northerlies.

first 30 mins was a bit iffy, but it was a good 15-20 for the arvo after that

unfortunately there is no gutter and quite deep everywhere at the moment. usually you get a nice flat section behind a bar for speed and a run up at the ramps

I've got the late arvo off so I'm going to make the pilgrimage to Kirra. I'm trusting it will look something like this only with more wind and more beach babes.

Was pretty good. Windy enough but the shore break was a bit hectic. Was totally Nigelled though which made water starting out the back a bit scary.
