Hey you Bowen mob are you still going up to Alva on sat,I have not sailed there so what sort of sailing are you expecting ie wave, bump & jump or just freeride.Thinking of coming down.
Good to hear from you nbr.
Yep still planning to go sat, two of us and a couple of kiters at this stage.
We havn't sailed there before but went up a few weeks ago for a look, should be good over the high tide, we will be taking freeride and wave boards not knowing exactly what to expect, while the tides up could be freeride blasting close in and then maybe some wave stuff on the other side of the sand bar later, Basicly we will be taking all our kit.
Plan to be there by 7.30am to get the wind and tide together
Hope you can make it.![]()
Will try to make it I don't know about 0730 but have to pack the family off to team sailing at misson Beach then head down.
Cool, probably be there for a while anyway, apparently you know my mate Gavin from sailing in townsville, we'll both be there sat.
How did it go? I learnt to sail at Alva on a TenCate Runner and an F2 Lightning, ie. many years ago. Sailed there for a lot of years. Haven't been there in a while. Also used to sail in Bowen when I lived there; 1989-1994.
Alva turned out to be a fizza,
2 weeks ago we had to t'vlle crew come to bowen for a blast,
Looks like they will be here this weekend as well, Bowens seems to have a more consistent breeze than alva,
You should come up, I was windurfing in Bowen about the same time you were here although I wasn't living here at that stage.
