Yes

2 parking areas are there now.

The big one with traffic lights and a boat ramp could be good if the wind does not have a lot of south in it.

The small car park at the top of the bay can only be entered driving west.

Both car parks have the beach as a rigging area

And the water still stinks

Thats the rotting corpses and condoms.
Still a great spot in a howling westerly.Great speed runs next to the 3rd runway.
Works best in a dead set westerly.

Re Foreshore drive, see my posting in the topic above. It's great in W to SW winds but very unforgiving if the wind dies or shifts north. It's impossible to land except at the far north of the channel.

Sailed at La Perouse today and conditions were great, though up and down a fair bit. Don't think I'll go back to Foreshore.

I tried foreshore drive the car park west of the boat ramp .
It was alright but very narrow when you are sailing its like doing laps in a pool with the bouys and rope on either side & i could see it would be unforgiving in any other wind direction
That said the really big metal drum type bouy near the shore has a length of rope floating in the water i didnt see & it triped me up .
Thought i hit a shark i was up & away so fast i dont think i got wet it was only when i looked back sailing off i saw it was a rope then i worried about fin but it was fine .
Might try la perouse tomorrow afternoon . Im working at sth coogee.

la pa and foreshore are like apples and oranges. one is super smooth and one super bumpy.

foreshore has 2 km of perfectly flat water, great for speed and freestyle.

la par is better for bump and jump, with more room.

there is still plenty of room to sail at foreshore drive, the best pat is up near the runway. if you sail along the line of bouys its smooth and very little shadow from the runway.

don't understand the pool comment in a straight westerly you reach for over 2 km??

Dropped by the big car park (the one with the boat ramp) on foreshore drive. Trying to figure out if this was the right place? The channel looked very narrow with the yellow rope around the perimeter of the port.

Didn't look very forgiving if you got it wrong? Don't mind a walk on occasion, but its all concrete and security on both sides.

Is there a strong current in there? or can you safely slog back if the wind dies?

Went to la parouse today, that was fun!

I meant its like the lane dividers in a pool on either side of you to keep you in your lane & hey it was cool they were nice long laps & the water was very very flat & it powered me up with a 5mtr could have gone 5.5 but i was playing it safe

One thing about the narrow strip is if the wind turns suddenly, you can get stuck at the wrong end, as happened to me last time I went there - with the added problem of the wind dropping 10kts at the same time... Took me an hour to get back as I was on my wave board and sinking the whole time. Anyway, planning to head there tomorrow if the wind's good.

PS @actiomax exactly the same thing happened to me - fin caught on something softish, I went over the front, and convinced I'd hit something large and fishy I waterstarted in about 2 seconds - only realizing after that it must have been a rope..!

I'll try to come down there tomorrow to have a look. Having a look at a car in Neutral Bay on the way so that may take a while. Not sure if I'll go sailing there but if it looks alright I'll give it a go.

No,

The car isn't for me, it's for my niece. So it's an automatic Corolla.
