hey, if your willing to drive to illawarra from sydney, then just go to narra lakes, shallow, on shore in ne, heaps of other dudes there starting out, that would be your safest, canton, central coast, weedy, but shallow for ages, and again on shore in s to sw, good luck man
Illawarra is about 40 mins from where I live...Narrabeen is about 1.5 hours with all the traffic, the cameras and $9 in tolls and probably parking fees. I agree Narabeen is probably the best "beginners" area in Sydney...just not worth the hassle. I am having to go to Balmoral for lessons at 1hr drive each way, $120 a pop for lesson plus $9 tolls and $12+ for parking by the time I get there, rig etc
hey this is not a cheap sport ...Surfing...I just chuck the board in the car, 10 mins later I am at the beach, quick wax job and I can do it in a lunch hour...but then I knew what I was getting into before I took the windsurfing plunge...I'm sure the first time I plane it will all be worth it.
