Had a couple of good runs at Peggies with an 8.5 during that 2 hr lull. Packed up and then it picked up. You'd have been OK on that 6.2 then.

Fun arvo on the Mid North Coast. Sailed Queens Lake as the surf was a little big for my ability

Fanatic Skate and 6.5m firefly. Damn gusty, but was fun to be out. also had a good turnout to the lake too, 7 sailors! the most i have seen in one spot locally for a while

Nope. Went to check out Peggies around lunch, was probably sailable (waves were good) but would have been a bit of a slog and there were heaps of surfers in the break and I didn't feel like getting yelled at/yelling at clowns today. Told Ian I was going home to get the big gear, went for an MTB ride instead

Hit the same spot as AJEaster. Decent early s-w wind, follwed by 40 min lull around 11 am, then it was game on for the next 3 hours or more with wind I guess around the 15 knt mark. Was stoked to see so many sailing at once.

Personally I had a bit of a shocker. Big sail - 6.7 (for me) and very gusty on / off conditions. Seemed to hit the sail in brutal short pulses- anyway, bloody hard work really. Positives- fair flew half he time, only crashed 2 times Everyone else made it look easy...

I was at illawarra too, around at the sailing club, which was the finish point for a big bike ride yesterday morning, lots of food and drink tents and mr whippy van, and live music by a band from kanahooka high school, so plenty of entertainment while waiting for the wind. Was going to pack up at 1 as well but went for one more go just as the wind arrived and had a good sail with long runs across the lake on 6.5 firefly and new 110l board.

Billy I think a thermos flask would be easier for a hot drink - did you fry up sausages?

I had a great day at Canton! Deceptive - 10-12kts reading on the windmeter near the loos although I knew it would be more out further..
Rigged a 5.8m + 95 board expecting it not to be enough & too much!Came in & rigged a 5m with the 95 & great! Even a bit too much at times.Pretty consistent too- few lulls but ok. Great speed runs in the flat & steep chop for B & J out further..Got a few jumps on my good tack ( need to work on pulling the tail to windward & getting higher ).
Used a 'new'( 2nd hand) weedfin c 29cms on the little board & much better for going upwind. Just like normal.. Funny feeling planing through clumps of weed & no ill effects!
Only out c 1.30 but buggered.. Tried Mobys 6.6m Maui sail & 105ltre Tabou & a great combo! If I had $ etc I think a 105 Tabou would be better for me in the 10-20kt Ne we get in summer - Id still keep the 125 for when I get to the lake & 5 kts..[}:)]
Do harness line position change with a persons height? Moby is about 6" taller than me & I found I had to move his lines about 4" forward..? ( or is it that I run my lines too far forward?

the harbor was wind as !!! as i relaxed on the sand at neilson park Vaucluse drinking bottles of Moet ... La De Da .

Just for speed sailing, there is a sand spit at low tide at the top of the bay.

I saw some of you guys in the distance - looked like you were flying. Would the sailing club be your spot of choice in a sou'wester ?

Had a great day at Dolls Point. Just a friendly kite guy & me on the water at 11:30 - nice 6m sou'wester session for about an hour and fifteen. Gusty as expected but fun all the same. More kiters came along and then the wind really kicked in which made for a lively 2nd session. Only one other windsurfer out - a guy from Victoria on a long narrow 20 year old custom wood board. Water not too cold, plenty of wind- all up a fab day despite needing NRMA to get car to start to get home!

Windang was doing its thing and just two of us out. Plenty of waves and a bit of wind too. Got to love the Illawarra!

Dam it I was heading to winding but ended up going south coast and got nothing , I will learn one day
