When is the wind going to come back to NSW?

I keep this gear in a case marked break glass in case of oblivion.
I had a nice session today actually in a 6 to 8 knot westerly. The rig is an old Sailworks 11 metre it's pretty bad in planning conditions but quite effective in the light stuff.

Autumn is traditionally a pretty windless season in NSW. Less frequent & then no NE sea breezes and only a few southerlies or westerlies as we go into winter. Sometimes big low pressure systems form in the Tasman Sea and then it's as windy as buggery with SE winds & wet weather but they are quite random events.

It's sad when you start getting excited at a possible up-coming gusty 10-14 knot southerly

I take it sub planning stuff Cluffy? More fun / practical than your SLW set up?

Hi Phil how's thing in paradise mate?
I was reaching around in the beating straps with the daggerboard raked slightly at times. some of the gusts would gave got the formula board going but it was pretty light and the longboard has that glide through the lulls when the formula board is parked. I didn't have my gps on but my best guess I may have cracked 15 knots at times. This gear excels in the stuff that the formula gear hates. The big chunky foil of the dagger board gives some very low end lift that the formula gear just can't do.

All good up here mate. Just the same windless problem the rest of NSW is suffering from. Been using "big boards and sails" (111 Carve / 7.4 Kult), and just cruising around Tbay enjoying the Autumn sun.

Ahhh, the blue water and beautiful weather.... Enough wind for a 7.5m.

Yes tomorrow. At Birubi. The wind may be a bit light but should be strong enough to catch some nice little bearaways.

I'm with Ayreforce, dust of your longboard (Wally, Raceboard or Div II) and you can sail every single weekend of the year.

Racing at Gosford Sailing club year round, we usually meet on the waterfront on the southern side of the club from 12:30pm during the winter months for informal racing. Everyone welcome.

There'll be a couple of big SE'r for a few days, systems, and with it the rain and the cold. And there'll be many Westerlies too; shifty, gusty, frosty Westerlies that ensure you've rigged wrong no matter what.

I'll wait for October.
