I'd say watching the elements, while staying warm... And the planes too, maybe... heaps of people seems to do that, at both car parks (even at Kurnell).

Yesterday was quite nice, and yeah, perfectly onshore, especially at the end. Good that the rain didn't stick.

the most annoying is when in summer they leave the car and air conditioning on.
How is the chop in SE in Kyeemagh? I was at George's river and even in moderate wind it's very confused.

I was going to say the same thing. At Kurnell people pull up all the time and have lunch and watch the water. Its not a bad thing to do. Which is why I don't understand why Sutherland council has decided to build boat wash facilities with a view at Kurnell and make the people park on the other side without a view.

When I was learning to sail (well I still am but the first season) I spent a few weeks in winter learning at Kurnell. Initially it annoyed me the amount of people that would turn up and watch, but then I figured out its normal for people to pull up there, and hey, I was free entertainment.

I've always thought it was strange that windsurfers (with gear) sit in their car for ages. If it's really windy or big surf
I can appreciate watching someone out there to assess which board/sail to use.

This morning I went out at White Rock. Lucky to have the day off. No-one sailing. Really hard to pick wind strength
with all the rain. 5m, bigger board, 1-2m waves, planing whole time

Each to their own I guess.

Some fellow water-man or women are fussy about the conditions l too have notice folk driving past stop & pause to check out whether its worth rigging.l believe if people are out & are getting going it is worth the trip.l remember once a old windsurfer told me the longer you sail over the yesrs you developed this additude .

It was an ese on Sunday with gusts peaking to 28k after 5.30pm. I dithered initially & then took the opportunity to photograph my friend sailing before I rigged. Perfect direction for close up shots! No sailing off in to the sunset (runway)!
I had a great 40 mins after finally getting on the water at 5.30pm. Really powered up on a 5m and fantastic loooong runs. Only stopped when I felt a 6-7cm gap in the mast and didnt have enough time to rerig before having to head home. agggh!!
It is often worth hanging out for those early evening, pre sunset blasts.
Bring on the cold fronts! Love sailing southerlies, se etc

I'd be angry too, mate... Busting your ass being awesome windsurfing on severall days, and what? Not a single picture of you being taken... And these pilots and not event flying the thing, it's all computers nowadays... Life really isn't fair...

I think its to send back photos to their friends to show them how good it is here. It has grass! Well, it used to be grass..
