A great way to start the series with an 8-12Kn Nor Easter. A good crowd at DAC with 15 raceboards and 13 Lt's on the water it looked like quite a festival of windsurfing. Hope to see a few more when we go to IYC on November 22.

This Saturday the Raceboard Series continues at Illawarra Yacht Club.

DATE: Saturday 22 November
TIME: Briefing at 10.15.
Pre-lunch race, nominal start 11.00. Lunch break. Followed by 2-3 afternoon races.
Pizza Nibbles and de-brief in the club from say 4.30 pm.

Gates to the Club grounds open at 8.30, parking in the Western Carpark and if necessary around the perimeter of the Rigging Lawn. Vehicles towing trailers are to park on the grass between the carpark and the Club building. We aim to have a couple of Parking Marshals on duty to greet and guide.
Photo ID is required to enter the club building.
Access to the Club Bistro is not available to people in wetsuits so the IYC sailors recommend visitors make provision for own lunches.

See you on the water soon!

Raceboard State Championship at Marmong Point Sailing Club Day 1.

Many thanks to the Marmong crew for getting 3 races away for us today in trying conditions. The winds swung from the SE to NE in 4-8 kn. In race one we were hopeful it was going fill in but alas it didn't. But it was good fun with a fleet of 28 boards.

Any issues with the results let me know.

Final day of the Raceboard NSW State Championship. Forecast was for a moderate Southerly, ideal coming up the bay at Marmong. Looked good as we launched but buy the time the first race was starting a few of us were thinking we might be a little overdressed. After the race there was a dash for the beach to re-rig. It looked like a big squall was coming so we waited for it to pass before heading out in 15 - 20 kn for 3 races. A few random gusts kept us on our toes making sure it was a tough competition for the top spot.

Well done to all and many thanks to the crew at Marmong Point Sailing Club for looking after us.

The winning board

Lived up to its name!
I think the win came from surviving the 30+kt gust at the top mark.

The final day of the NSW Raceboard series was yesterday at St George Sailing club. A lovely sparkling day, but with a forecast of light winds. We had the occasional gust over 10kn but they were pretty rare, swinging from SE to NE, which kept the race committee on its toes. Many thanks to the team at St George for getting in 3 races for us amongst the multiple races they were doing for the various other classes as well.

The NSW series which visited three clubs with Raceboard fleets only shows 2 rounds in the results as round 2 at IYC was abandoned due to a glass out.
