Not the news we want for Christmas, or any other time for that matter.
Still missing, as at 10am, so not sounding good. 56 years old. Nice bloke; he was my student (in Information Technology) a few years ago.
Thoughts to his family.

Yes, not good news so far. If anyone has any information let the emergency services know ASAP.

Latest update: As at 7pm police have not yet recovered Bobby from lake tuggeranong. Must say it was rather dissapointing seeing the number of rubbernecking public. Guys, the police are not complaining about our assistance, so get down there and help. As a very small local community of likeminded windsurfers, we should all be down there helping. So get off your computers and get down there...Im sure you would hope that we would all band together and help if it was you that was missing.
Wind yesterday was around 20knots NW and the last known location was the yellow bouy on the lake near a small floating jetty upwind of the lake tuggeranong dog park.. Commonsense says go downwind (to the southeast) of the buoy.

Any news? Have to assume he was alone on the lake? Would he usually wear a wet suit?

Very sad news at any time but especially this time of year. It must be so hard for his family still waiting to hear what actually happened.
I mainly sailed at the swamp (Lake Burley Griffin) and I don't think Bobby usually did but I would often see him out on Lake Tuggeranong when I drove past on my way to Bunnings. I didn't know him well and only sailed with him a few times when I sailed there in Southerlies. Nice bloke!

Bobby's enthusiasm for windsurfing was infectious. As others have said he was a really nice guy. Greatly missed.
