We had quite a bit of rain this morning but as I'm writing this clouds are clearing and it looks like we are heading for fine day. Not much wind at the moment but BOM is calling for a light 15 knot South to South Easter from late morning.

In good news the swell has gone back around to the South and is in the 4 foot range. Add all this together and we should have something sailable at Windang. It will be brief though all but gone by late afternoon. Good conditions though to try out a couple of 2011 light wind wave boards I have in car.

In other news: NSW Wavessailing comp these weekend. Conditions look good for Friday afternoon... Let's hope it carries over into the weekend.

10:30 Update:
Hm... strange day... wind swung around to the South West and with that clouds moved back in and the temperature dropped. (see photos below)

Just now I can see a line of wind moving in from the South and with that there seems be a new break in the clouds. Not sure if this will be a happening thing today.

I think there was something wrong with their wind meter. While it was somewhat steady I don't think it was anywhere near 15 knts. The meter on our roof read 7.5 to 8.5 knts all day.

It was quite frustrating really. You could see the wind hanging just out side the bay pushing in some consistent wind swell.

In the end decided on work over sailing.

Don't want to jinx it but there is a minute chance of a NEer on Thursday and it looks like Friday afternoon will deliver the goods further North.

Tom we had 20 knots + at Toowoon yesterday and a fun wave off the point.

ahhh... Toowoon... I think due that's one of those spots that always gets a bit more in a Southerly. I used to sail there back when I lived in Terrigal and always found there to be a bit more wind. Good to hear someone got out!

Are you coming down to the comp this weekend? Looks like there will be good conditions Friday and Monday/ Tuesday but sadly not over the weekend... except for maybe a very light NEer on Sunday afternoon.
