My missus has planned a romantic weekend away at Wyong and we're about to head off from Sydney now. Looks like it's blowing 20kts South and I'm thinking the perfect way to kick off a romantic weekend is with a sail at Canton (yeh, and I packed my surfboard just in case there was no wind and we run out of RomComms). Hope that shark has gone from Avoca :P
Question is, where on that bay is best in a southerly for some flat water blasting? I only know of Canton, but have never sailed there. I've bought a purpose built weedy just for Canton and Illawarra. Any tips on where's best? Also, if anyone's keen to catch up, let me know... always keen to meet new peeps.

Put in at Buff Pt Budgewoi - It a short work into the flats..Wish I could be there today - would be awesome..Got to work sometime..

1Buff Pt Rd - carpark - no loos but best launch just be careful there are a few rocks in the water around the point.

Budgewoi is the lake just N of Tuggerah and Canton.. As you go over the arched bridge between them look North!
Best with 20cms or less weedy..be careful if its greater than 24cms..Canton is deeper if you don't have a shallow weedy but angle not as good and choppier.

Thanks for the advice. I got up here a bit late and with no one out anywhere I had no idea where to launch from, so went for a surf. Doesn't look good for tomorrow, but hope I'm wrong and you're rewarded with some wind for your advice. I'll be out tomorrow if there's anything above 15kts
