There was talk many years ago about opening the lake system near Budgewoi (between the golf corse and the new roundabout). A few ideas were brought up, pipes under the road, a rock channel and bridge etc, but wisely all were canned. Would be near impossible to keep it open on Budgy beach with all that sand movement. Anyway, the lakes have always had stinky weed problems, and always will. I remember in Primary half our school would march down to Canton and drag the loose weed up onto the bank. Then a backhoe would scoop it up. Now they got that fancy blue thingy. Does it collect the weed or simply shred it? I assume they sell it, as the Wyong council wouldn't spend a cent unless there was money to be made..

helllllllloooooo, my understanding is, no, the council doesnt sell it, and its reason for such poor management in regards to a kazillion tonne of rotting weed, is they couldn't afford the tip fees, so current plan is to contract out the retrieval of surface weed, only so much, then they are going to trial it as fertilizer in local schools, the council have claimed its the cost associated with the dumping, not the retrieval, that is main reason for such a build up, me, i dont care, i only care about windsurfing the lake, so based on that, they should just leave it, birds seem to enjoy it, and over time, we will move on too a new spot, and continue to push the boundaries of physics, speed, human endurance......and bullcrap,,,,,,,,,,,,,no! I wont excuse your ignorance, and that blue thing you refer to, is in fact, my new speed boat, ha, im hoping to put some wheels on it, and go to a big pot plantation and just start munching!!!!!,,,,,,everytime i look up and see that 7.2 sailworks sail just flying around, i think, "wow!, Bryon is still improving, oh, its Sue", keep up the good work sue!
