I have a dakine thermo form waist harness. When i got it it was the most comfortable in the shop but was also the most expensive. I have slowly been progressing into more slalom and race sailing rather than just bump and jump.
I have found on a long straight stretch after a while the ride up causes my lower back to not be supported and becomes painful and uncomfortable. But when i pull it down far enough to support my lower back well my hip bones front side kinda, are right on the seam of the harness and are even more painful as they take a significant proportion of the weight.

do u really need to have a waist to where a waist harness comfortably? i figure if i had more "padding" around the harness would fit better. Im thinking of also getting a waist harness for speed and racing. Are they much better for what im looking for?

I have always had problems with my lower back and long distance slalom on a watse harness always made it worse. I also found a poor fitting seat harness made my back feel even worse. Now I don't know whether it's because my body shape is suited to my new seat harness of not, but the DaKine XT seat harness is by far the best I've ever used and all back problems seem to have disappeared? I'm not sure whether others have had a similar experience?

Does anyone know exactly how high it is meant or designed to sit?
