Why did we let these guys in

Thanks, a lot of us were all up in the north of the state for our second round of the state Formula and Slalom titles. We managed to run 5 good slalom races on Saturday out in the Bay, but today we cancelled racing and decided to just sail the sand bar at low tide (8:30 AM - 11:30 AM). It's only short, but easy to sail back up to the start again after a run. Wind was 25 gusting up to 30 and swinging around quite a bit. My top five 2 sec runs were in a number of different spots, with one run of 39 knots achieved on the way back up the run (nice squall came through).

I've got a few photos from last time we were up, so I'll try to post them soon. There was a professional photographer on the beach for quite a while taking heaps of photos, so we should be able to get hold of those at some stage.

You can check out the run on Google Earth, just seach for - Port Sorell Tasmania. The run is in the middle of the bay, directly south of the two small islands. Wind was swinging WNW-WSW.

Great to see 40's coming out of Port Sorrell.
The Pit had tides that should have been over the strip when the wind was hitting in the arvo,while mega wind (probably 35+ Friday arvo and good on Sunday) was also a bit south.
At least made my favorite wave sailing locations a bit more cross shore,so no speed -but great high tide waves
