how do i upload from card or navilink to the GPS challenge site, i seem to have different top speed readings, the navilink has a higher reading
Hi Keef,
Is the Navi setup as per the guides on the Mt Best site?http://mtbest.net/setting-up-navi-GT31.htm
are you using Real Speed?
There are a number of guides here
gpsteamchallenge.com.au/pages/guides
I've never used navlink to download the data. My process is removing the card from the GPS, inserting in the card reader, copying the SBN file to the computer and then loading into Real Speed. I've used the KA72 site once and that works fine too.
If you have trouble, email the SBN file to me and I'll check it out.
1/ log on to site, with your user name and password.
2/ check if your team already has a post for that day.
a) if it has, scroll down to where it says "edit this session" click on that.
b) if there's no team post for the day, go to "my data" at the top of the page. Click on "post new session"
3/you should then have a table with all the divisions ready to be filled in. Enter your numbers, and check the "doppler, trackpoint" boxes, depending on what you're using.
Seems very strange the card and navilink disagree, it should be the same data.
How much is the difference???
decrepit excuse my ignorance, ive sorted the time, the 2 sec graph said 3... so i moved the columns across and it read 31.102, the problem i have now is working out the distance and the rest of the stuff, maybe i need to enter more information into realspeed
Yep you need all the divisions set up, but I thought Mal is incorporating a default divisions file with the real speed download.
If you go to the "guides" page on the GTC site there is a download link for 2 divisions files.
www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au/pages/guides
If you download 1 or both, then in realspeed click on 1 of them, you'll have the GTC divisions set up.
Distance, isn't treated as a division. It's on the bottom window-pane, (the one with all the data). you have to scroll across to "total doppler distance". You won't be able to read all that because the column is too narrow. but if you open up that column, that's what it'll say. Scroll down to the bottom of the data. The last entry is your distance.
Just had a look at Mal's site, and there is a specific GTC version to download, with all the division included.
Maybe you didn't down load this one????
"GT11/31 users should download GPS TC GT.exe"
Just had another thought Keef, are you seeing the divisions,-track file screen on the left of the window???
If not click on the "view" button and tick "divisions" box.
Once you can see them, clicking on the word "divisions" should start the all the divisions calculations.
clicking on any one of the divisions will start just that one.
The results will appear in the right hand pane.
Hi Keef
I had these exact sort of problems when I started the GTC and wasnt sure if I had everything set up right and was reading from the correct columns thats why my husband wrote ka72.com to make it much easier for me and others new to the comp. You will get used to realspeed and there is heaps of help from everyone on how to set it up etc. I only ever use it now if I have got a PB and want to analyze a gybe or see my NM for instance.
Im not that good with computers and want it to be as quick and easy as possible load my session onto the GTC site.
thanks decrepit for your help i have the divisions, but i dont have show division results i have sent an email to mal i hope he can sort it out thanks
In the latest versions of RealSpeed, after you open a file it does not automatically calculate or display any results. You have to click on a division to get the results and display for that division. If you click in the heading 'Divisions' the program will calculate and display results in all divisions but it takes a few seconds longer.
thanks everyone , i have worked it out all i needed to do was tick the boxes in the grid fields , now all i need is some wind![]()
