Cheers Guys, thanks for the warm welcome.
Yep WK is West Kirby, unfortunately WK only fires on a west to wnw flow which are few and far between, only 4 or so decent sessions in 2009.
The WK Speed strip is fast for 2sec, 10sec, & Alphas, but we will be struggling to make the grade with the 1hr, NM and Distance disciplines. The strip is only 700m long and fully enclosed, so an NM would involve 3/4 gybes.
Having said that hopefully we will be encouraged to sail less fast and flat spots in order to achieve a decent result across all the scoring disciplines.
I don't think that we are "in it" to "win it" more along the lines of just taking part and hopefully encourage more of the freeride crew to get involved with the GPS scene.
Dedicated speed kit is expensive in terms of $/Knot when it only gets used half a dozen times a year. I think this tends to put off the freeride crew from joining in with the GP3S scene. However, GTC is a great stage for all to enjoy and have fun with the GPS, competing as a team against regional and international teams, without the need for dedicated speed kit.
All the best

Yep OPH, that says it very well!
We've also found a rivalry develops between teams close on the ladder. If out right winning is out of the question, you can always try and beat the next team up the ladder. This indeed leads to more TOW, and pushing your personal limits.
I'm sure you'll have lots of fun, we certainly do.
