ps
For those who don't understand
"go" can be quite simply be replaced with
"stroke" I think this is in the "Completely Obsessive" category, though to Elmo's credit he's riding a 17 yo old board, homemade fin, and 3 to 4 yo sail, so I think he's just about got it right!!!!!!!!!!
No thats poverty which is making me ride that gear.
Mind you on the other side of the coin.
It's all the windsurfing kit in my shed which has led me down the path of poverty.
Bit of a cart before the horse scenario.
Speed, now matter what sport you are in is always about trying to go faster.
The thing is for us a year ago 35knot's was a Yeeeehhhhhaaaaaarrrrgggghhhh sesion nowadays as we improve it's a starting point.
Slowy on the weekend was grizzling about high 38's (I wish I could), it's all relative.
As a surfer and a wave sailor, you're always chasing the next big wave.
Freestylers, once they have a move sorted they go onto the next creative method of hurting themselves.
It's human nature to strive.
At the end of the day we all do whatever we do because it press's the right buttons with us.
Some of my best "speed" sessions have been where I have actually been racing against Hardy at low speed (hooting and hollering at 23knots

)
The beauty about the teams thang is socializing with all the various crews.
If someone gets a PB everyone cheers.

If someone is a touch quicker you chase them

If you are a touch quicker, you have to work harder to stay there

and at the end of the day you get of the water knackered have a chat and a bevy with everyone after and bulshirt about how great you weren't
