Hey, i would like to ask you about fin size for a f2 axxis 85L 55,5 cm wide. Im gonna use a 6,7 Race sail on it. What fin size and type would you recommend if i want to use it for speed but still have some upwind capabilities.
And what size weed fin would you use?
I have an F2 Ride 277 which is larger, but similar rocker etc etc.
For my 6.6 I use a 32cm pointer which performs well upwind, and I've sqeezed 30 knots out of it off the wind.
I've tried a 26 weed fin, which is similar area to the 32 pointer, and found it too small for the 6.6. Runs off the wind ok, but doesn't point and not nice across the wind.
So... I would suggest a 32 pointer or 28+ weedy for use with a 6.6.
For what its worth, I find this board slooooow... Its my ocean only board now. More modern boards are stiffer and slicker and much more fun for speed sailing.
