Hi guys, I have been asked to edit a .fit file that the owner forgot to turn off recording following their session. I hoped that GPS Speedreader would open the file but alas. The file originates from a young fella's Canmore that he was wearing.

Any advice on how to either convert or edit the .fit file would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your GPSBabel is version 1.6.0 or later. Earlier versions could only read .FIT version 1. Later versions can read .FIT versions 1 and 2. Almost all devices nowadays that save to .FIT are saving to version 2.

Unless you are a programmer and can use the .FIT SDK, you can't edit .FIT files directly. You have to convert from .FIT to something like .GPX, then edit that.
