is it possible to convert a slot box fin to mini Tuttle ? or is slotbox already too thin ?

and K4 fins? I know nothing about them except from what their website says. but plastic ? are they good? stiff...or stiff enough ? and my experience with plastic fins dates back about 20+ years ago. and they sucked...stiff as a wet noodle, and if you hit bottom....they exploded

To your first question I do not have an answer.

However K4 fins, I understand that when you read 'plastic' you think about the plastic skegs of yesteryear. These were crap, that's why we all moved on to carbon and G10 fins, right?

So moving back to plastic seems actually like a step back.... but it isn't: enter K4 fins.

About the how and the why I can't tell you but they just work! If the standard fins of one of my boards don't suffice, I always look to K4. I run them from sidefins to a 40 cm. freeride (Fang) and no complaints here. If you hit them on something, no problems, a little sandpaper and you're good to go.

They are a very popular choice of fins here in the Netherlands. Can't go wrong with them in my opinion.

I've got some k4 dugongs (weed thruster fronts) and a 40 k4 fang (powerbox) like Cuchufleta and haven't had a problem with them. I really like the fang on the 3 different boards I've run it on, as it doesn't grab weeds as much as other uprights. I think they reinforce it internally with something as they claim they are "composite".

People like their wave fins a lot. My wave skills are no where good enough to rate them for feel vs. much more experienced wave sailors than me though.

I have a Quatro Pro 115, for the bigger sails (6.3 and 6.8) I run it with the K4 3SW paired with some Ezzy Asymmetric 2 degrees side biters. Works for me.

K4 popular at local UK wave sport, some buy new boards and swap to K4 straight away. I wrote to K4 and got good advice, the guy knew my local spot. Tell them weight, board, conditions (powerful/soft waves), ability, wind direction (onshore?)

just FYI. some of you probably already knew this. but a slot box fin is too narrow/skinny to fit in a mini tuttle box. I was hoping to convert some over to MT...but not gonna happen. At least not without quite a bit of work.....

I got over my crappy slot box fin problem by 3d printing slotbox to FCS and slotbox to futures adapters. Works great and now you have a huge selection of readily available fins at any surf shop.
