Actually we have had some here today... after they cancelled the comp... but it still would not have been a wave sailing day

Had 15-18 for couple hrs late morning so not enough for me but freestyler/riders whould have enjoyed it

Wow if 18 knts is not enough for you and you live in Sydney, then you musn't go out very often...

I must admit that's what I meant by my earlier post. As an ex-pat, I don't know about Oz these days. Definitely here the tendency if for people to lament all summer that there's not enough wind for them (i.e. less than 20 knots). Basically here it means they sit the entire summer out.

Funny thing is that when the Ike storm came out, they spent the entire day de- and re-rigging and still didn't go out. I hope you'z ain't like that.

And you're right about practicing anyhow in lesser wind: at the last national freestyle "jam" here last year, we had pros and all go out in lighter morning winds - definitely less than 10 knots. I know I was sinking to my ankles trying to fast-tack in 9-10 knots. When the wind did pick up in the arvo, wow did these guys put up a great show. Those outings aren't wasted...
