After helping in the other thread [hopefully helping] I figure I'll ask for something I am missing
I am after for my older Bombora longboard the round mast base that goes directly into a hole with a tab that stops the round male nose turning so the upper section turns and compresses a rubber o ring which expands and grips the internal female hole thus creating friction to hold it in place, the top of it is a serated circular handhold, which has a rectangular base with a rope tendon which connects into a bullet shaped mast plug ..
there usually are two mounting holes on board all earlier bomboras that used this, later ones used the fin box mast track system that is standard today, asking if anyone can supply one, id even buy a complete smaller board if it had one so i can use the longboard with the shortboards parts
I'l have a look under the Safari Beachfront Bure tomorrow.....where i store all the stuff i definately don't use anymore! i know exactly the part you need. I used them in 1987 at Narrabeen Lakes...wow...boards were heavy then and i was small!
Failing that, SHQ in Melbourne might have one holding up the Cafe down at the beach, where their rental gear is, but you might have to use a shovel and dig...it's probably been buried there for 15 years!!
warren francis how the hell are you...man you have forgotten me already...well maybe my forum name....hee hee...
2 Winda Woppa sailboard surfari extravaganzas and some personal tuition at narrabeen [remember the rally modified vintage silver Sunbeam Rapier I drove up there [looked great but was a rustbucket part of the reason for my name..hee hee]....and I am still playing with old clunker longboards [of which you used to get so peeved I loved them so much]
well dont worry never did get into shortboards [due to my stuffed lungs] but did end up with some modern boards though, Mistral Prodigy [longboard inspired in a way] and Fanatic Bee 317 [short longboard ] and of coarse my little museum of old boards..most interesting a catamaran twin hull longboard...crazy.
by the way a little plug for Warren...I had the greatest windsurfing experiences in those early days of my windsurfing...his Winda Woopa weekend were fantastic...
and I enjoyed the personal tuition..I can recomend if Warren puts together a windsurfing sufari..it will be top notch.
note I have no afiliation to the above...just a satisfied customer.
ps Warren now that you seem to be living in Fiji?..I guess you got rid of that rustbucket XF falcon van...hee hee
Last time I saw you I was buying the Fanatic Bee 317 off Sam, and was in my XF falcon van...[yea you did catch me looking at the plastic longboards too and ribbed me...haa haa.]
Now i have the last of the Aussie vans an XH falcon...they can fit my fanatic and prodigy inside the van up onto the dashboard and I can still sleep beside it...or with the prodigy partly under it..haa haa. damn wider boards.
Yea but those days are getting numbered as have a new wife / partner who desires motels but she did sell her liitle Toyota Echo to buy a wagon so I can carry boards on top...so thats cool.as she supports my windsurfing, bless her little cotton socks.
took 2 of mentioned bases to the recycle shop @ local tip 2 weeks ago with 2 bombora boards (plastic), 4 old booms, various fittings, battens, 2 old harnesses and 6 sails...sorry, but needed the loft space in shed!
