I saw them the other day at the local camping and fishing shop. Would be a bit of fun with the kiddies.

I saw them at terrigal lagoon ,they had a demo day .They would be fun for the kids to muck around on why we windsurf.

has anyone ever used one to teach kids and beginners?

i have been offered one for the windwanderers and was wondering whether they are worth it?

I took out a demo for a try. Had it rigged as a sailboat with stays for the mast and a rudder/tiller set up. Heaps of fun up to 15 knots of breeze. Also can be windsurfer for beginners, kayak,ski toy, they cost $500.Fits in a duffle bag that can be easily carried and fits in the boot of a small car. apparently the most popular sailing craft in the world.Wholesaler is RFD. Retail at BIAS boating.

most boat places deal with RFD Australia.If you goto their web site see "aquaglide multisport". I think theres a whitworths in adelaide.they're an RFD agent. If not Bias Boating do mail order australia wide.(on the net or by phone)

tested that one too. Also fun and water based.(and good for getting cable through conduit.)

On ebay recently....between $700-$900? thinking same, but that money could be better spent on my w/surfing addiction?!?

I think the one at BIAS BOATING is the LE model. Thats the one I tryed out down at Manly QLD. $499 plus freight approx $30.

Richiefish, yes you are right. The smaller one is under $500.

What was the flotation like? I weigh 65kg, would I get one (or maybe two) of my 25kg kids on it with me as a sailboat?

Yeah I had a look today. The LE can be picked up for $489, the 3.1 for $799 and the 4.1 for $899.

Honey, I'd love to weed the garden, but the girls all want me to take them down to the bay again. Oh well, I guess I had better go, it's better than having them watch DVD's all day.

if you want something more serious to teach your kids to sail on check out walker bay marine . nice plastic boats with inflatable tube around gunnel . my wife has one you can also put an outboard on them for fishing . a bit pricy though

I was wondering how well the aqua glide goes upwind? Hopefully better then a short board. Can you remember from your demo?

not too bad upwind (better than a short board) as they have a keel. In "winsurfer mode(no rudder/tiller) the keel runs from the mast to the end of the"boat" In sailboat mode rear half of the keel becomes the rudder and you put on the standing rigging.
