Does anyone use a Toyota Corolla Wagon for their windsurfing bus? They get 5L/100km which is Perth-Lano return for ~$20!

Nope I drive a V8 commodore wagon, someone needs to offset your corolla, happy to do it

Haha! We'll it is cheap tp run, when its running! But I drove it to Lano last week and I think I may have killed it :( A gearbox every 6 months starting to grind me down!

I'm totally ready to drive something girly that would get me to that spot up north and back for $150!

a Delica, run it on vegie oil and turps, you'll get ya $10 per hundred easy. And with change probably....

Yeah I have a Corolla Wagon (2003 model). Not that exciting to drive but plenty of room inside - can fit my 12m formula sail/mast/boom in. After having kids, the gear got transferred into a trailer - it only has a 1.8L engine but tows pretty well on the freeway as long as you keep the revs up. On these kind of trips with a 400kg trailer it gets closer to 10L/100km.

Have used it for moving, picking up stuff from bunnings, carrying bikes etc. Very versatile little car.

Has been perfectly reliable as you'd expect from a corolla. Its a shame that they dont import the wagons into Australia anymore, but that keeps the resale value up. Hope this helps.

Yeah a small wave board should fit, especially if you're travelling alone. I used to chuck my boards on the roof racks because the lovely wife's patience only extended to sharing her passenger seat space with sails, masts and booms.

I should also add that I have never seen 5L/100km. Normal 40L tank will get about 650 kms max on the highway, so that's more like 6.1 L/100km. Around town is a bit over 7.

Nice! Might be the wrong price

Looks a little like the commodore, perhaps bigger inside (those things a tiny inside) and no FUGLY guards

I didnt look at the price just dreaming .
It does look a little like the Sportwagon which I have, just wish they made it a tad longer. not many wagons to choose from now.

I've got a Mitsi Nimbus (called a Chariot here in NZ) - little 2.0 litre 7 seater - fits my 295 board inside (nose on the dashboard and seats lying flat). Cost me $2400, so not worried to get salty water on the seats! Great little wagon for putting the gear inside, so you don't damage it with straps on the rooof, but also has roof rails (for the Bic Techno). The version from 1992 - 1998 is great, after that they went to 2.4 litre and too much body kit on it...
