Hi there just sending a message out on the airwaves to anyone that can suggest a great warm spot for me to take ' she that must be obeyed'. Not Bali, Fiji or Maui. A bit closer in Aust or Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Noumea, Lord Howe Is etc
We are beginner/just intermediate. And looking at Easter period 2013. Thank you to all. Drewba
Hi
Nouméa is the capital city of New Caledonia ![]()
Easter is still good for windsurfing and your mrs should enjoy the shopping/dining/sightseeing.
have a look at the "summer's back in new Cal" thread in this section.

Hey thanks Sean & Stu, but why do you want to hurt me with videos like that ?. Could I pester you guys to suggest a couple of schools by name or a beach to google ?. Not familiar here do you just book accom & show up somewhere ? appreciate the help. Drew
Hi Drew,
yes you just book your accommodation (ask the seabreezers that already came for advice) and turn up at the beach ( Anse Vata) three rental outlets. they all do lessons too.

Hey SEAN & STU for accomodation near sailboard hire would I be better off near la Promenade, Best Western area of beach or is down south near Le Meridian ok ?
thnx Boys
Definitely "la promenade", straight on the spot. Great apartments, awesome view !
+ little shopping complex on ground level, and a "woman only" gym....
contact "hooray" and "waiting4wind" they stayed over there.
Méridien is alright, not as recent as promenade, and on the kiting spot.
wind is okay at the moment, as we are under the influence of tropical cyclone Sandra !!
geeez, you aussies could keep your bad weather for you !!!![]()
Sean
kite size??? .....hum..... they seem big and inflated with strings attached![]()
To be honest I rarely look behind me when sailing....![]()

Seriously, I'd have to ask but from what I seem to recall it should be around 9m².
Sean
lol - background for my question I guess is that I have a 12m switchblade, so just wondering if I went over there whether I should really be getting a 2nd kite, say an 8m, to complement the 12m? (I'm about 81kg)
if it helps, today I was sailing underpowered i 14 knts with 7 m² and a mate was out with his 9m² kite and foil kiteboard and having a blast.
My advice : bring your 12 and if needed buy a smaller new kite here ! ![]()

Oh man Sean. Was there 5 days . A very blustery 2-4 knots most days , so did market, Amadee for absolute killer snorkeling amongst other things. Weather ....perfecto, day & night. And, no mosquitoes. Wow.
La Promenade locale & views over to Duck Is & beyond et****o die for.
Yes 'She ' got out a couple of days.& freaked a little on Monday arvo mid teens in knots for great sailing to Duck Is & back etc.
Did you happen to be at beachfront with family one afternoon, maybe Friday or Saturday ?. We weren't sure & too self conscious to bother your downtime. Will definitely be back.
Will consult WindGuru & Finder before booking. thanks so much for genuinely improving this holiday for us both.
Merci beaucoup Drrew
Gee Drew !!! You should've given a shout !!! Please do not hesitate next time.
Yes it was probaly me with the kids and girlfriend as we go to the beach nearly everyday, and I was there during that no wind week (snorkelling and SUPing)
happy you enjoyed the place !
Wind is back since wednesday, went sailing to Ilot maitre yesterday, awesome, warm water and a very decent 18 to 20 knts.
Everybody's a little excited on the water as our main racing event is next week, world n° 4 Julien Quentel is here to compete, he's been training since friday and everybody's "trying" to chase him.... (read : desperately trying to keep up with his pace and incredible racing gybes)
