Does any one know where you can get one of those windsurfer trolleys that you can use to wheel your gear down to the beach and on the sand?

Not sure where to start looking for this?

Big wheels are best for the sand right? Someone told me that kayak trolleys can double for this. Anyone tried them out?

$500.00 for one on there website, i'd be looking at making something. A Kayak trolley actually may be better as you could put your boards on it and then stack the other stuff on top, maybe even put a strap around it all and then drag it along the beach. A lot cheaper to and easy to transport around.

Yeah saw that price. I would get me a decent sail for that.

I think i'll have to take a look at the kayak trolleys at anaconda. That may be the way to go.

when i was a kid I stole my dads trolly from his golf clubs and Duct taped a cross bar on the bit thats holds the bag. used to tow our windsurfers on a bike down to pelicans point from claremont down princess road :) they even fold up so could put it in the back of the car.

Worked great until my dad wanted to play golf one day....

dude, you can just use one of those 2-wheel trolleys they use for moving boxes around, only about 30 bucks from a hardware store. Just use it laid down flat, and add your own padding. The trick is to use octopus straps to hold the board down, and find the balance point so it sits effoortlessly. Some of them have big wheels, suitable for sand. I used one as a bike trolley to cart my board and entire rig a couple of km to the beach on a regular basis. No sweat.
Ok, some sweat. But worth it!

At the rate I'm going another 10 years of sailing and I might retire to one of these..The top one looks more comfy!

Saw this yonks ago on the net and archived it thinking it's a simple and economical idea. It's close to the ground but taller wheels would make a difference eg. kids 10"-12" bicycle or golf cart wheels. R-clip is removed and axle is slipped through foot straps, replace clip and flip the board over and pull away. I guestimate under $20 in materials, excluding wheels.

Go an find your self a green wheelie bin.
After you have given it a good cleaning get to it with a grinder.
Cut the front and sides off in the middle third
- You'll end up with all four sides and a bottom that the wheels are connected to

Remove the lid.
Leave the top rim in place and cut out/off the front and sides about 200mm down from the top rim.
*This gives the structure some strength up top and will allow you to tie things too.

Slide you sail inside from the top so it's resting on the back of the bin (this has the handle at top and the wheels at the bottom.
Boom and extension can go in the same way and will not fall out as you left the bottom third in one piece.

Slide your board over the top of the top rim and into the bottom section and it will not fall out as you left the bottom third in one piece.

Slide your mast in on top of your board... over the rim and into the bottom section and it will not fall out as you left the bottom third in one piece.

When you pick up the the handle to pull the bin along, the board and mast (two piece) will be at an angle that will run out over and above your head.

Get yourself a bike lock as someone is sure to steal your cut down wheelie bin from the beach.

Mine was working well until Sunday, when some b#### blowin stole it off the sand at Inverloch.

And now it's back. Kids. And after lashing out another 10 dollars for a beautiful wide wheel plastic golf buggy from my transfer station. Golfers are rich.
Will I lock it? nah, not here. quay sera.

Talking of tips, ask your tipologist to keep old boards for your inspection.
