Most of the people who sail around me are getting on in years, and are bit soft. I like the kite boys... I have never been run down, and if they are gumby I give them a wide berth. The Kite boys are always out when I sail, and I always say "Hi"

I spent a summer in perth, and it seems you guys are at war, but no one seems to know why. Ive been cut-off by windsurfers, but accidents hapen. If you dont want this... then go sail by your self.

i think its mostly becouse there are a small amount of kiters of think they are superior in every way and give windsurfing as much **** as possible, then in retern a smaller amount of windsurfers give it back. there for making a general disliking for each other.

but theres also thins like this that make us a bit against windsurfers: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=24505

i myself as a kiter have quite alot of respect for windsurfers as ive seen some of the top stuff you guys can do especially in the waves, and understand how technical it all is.as much as i wish it could all be good there is always going to be a few people from each side who will never let it rest.

cheers, Leo

from all i had seen of windsurfing i thought you went in one direction, fell off and went the other and if you were really good you did a special "trik" to change direction.
then...
i watched that

now i see its more than go one way, fall, go other way

video title is a bit one sided*-there's a bit of windsurfing in it

ps i have nothing against windsurfers... that Werner guy sounds like an exception to the norm or an exteamist

theres always gonna be a bit of tension, its just how much. take safety bay for example, windsurfers one side of the sand bar and kiters the other side or in shoalwater.

both sports are growing, so both communities are growing, so your gonna get people from both sports that will cause trouble, but hey, have fun, be fair and watch out for people,

Ben, we are fortunate to have lots of room for both kiting and windsufing to share the waters. I am with you with the 'kiters have never given me grief' attitude, I love watching the tricks and am amazed everytime I see them. But in other parts of Aust and around the world where conditions might be a little more limited, areas smaller and more of both Kite and windsurfers in the water there are going to be collisions and incidents. It reminds me of the Surfers vs Bodyboarder issues from a few years back! Farken get over it, life is waaaaay too short to worry about ****!

Yeah the kiters deffently don't bother me at all. Down at Boggy they neva cut off or not give right of way to me. I don't see what this whole rilvary is about.

I'm also with you Divaldo, i like seeing all the tricks they do. Amazes me. I Want to learn how to kite aswell as windsurf some time. When i get enough time to have a go and enough money to get myself one. But it seems like that is unherd off on this forum. Are there many people around here that kite and windsurf? I know a guy in Alelaide who does.

Yes I windsurf and Kite.
But it still doesn't stop me sledging the tea baggers.
I don't mean to be impolite.
It's more like just sledging Victorian footballers or the Pommy cricket team,.... or brushing the cat up the wrong way.
It's just nice to get the reaction.
(aren't I a miserable ol git!)
