I'm getting back into windsurfing with a view to foiling and am getting very frustrated with the light winds and rain of Northern NSW right now. Is there anywhere I could go for a week now and expect to be sailing in decent winds every day?
I'd prefer the East coast as I expect it would cost a bundle to take my board and rig by air.
I've heard Mandurah is great but no idea of the winds there right now. If the Fremantle Dr is working at present it might be cheaper to rent a board and rig than lug gear to the West coast and back.
Anyway, I'm happy to listen the advice of you gun sailors.

Lake George, SA if you like flat water sailing. If you dont mind a few days in the week on larger gear, you can probably sail every day for next week from this Saturday 'till friday.

Getting to Perth is not as hard as you think, if you know what to do. Bagage rates have gone up but they are still okay at $45 per piece.

If you want to consider Perth, let me know and I can give you advice on where to rent a van, and even possibly help you with working out how to get your gear here.

He is certainly on Sabbatical at the moment.
We had good wind last Sunday and hardly anything since. Not much in the next week either.

Yeah I know. For the moment Safety Bay is my local, and its lucky that I have so much work on. I am contrasting that to last year where I reluctantly went back to Sydney in March and the wind was still blowing! Although I think it didn't last much after that.

I was a bit annoyed last Sunday as my 9m kite has a leak, and it was certainly too windy for my bigger kites, so I even got to sit Sunday out. New kites are on the way! I should bring some of my sailing gear across too, just for those sort of days.

I've been watching the weather in WA over the last few months to get a feel for how consistent it is

Was surprised that in early Feb the consistancy stopped. Went from 5-6 days of solid to 2-3 days.

Does the wind shift south at this time of year because the SW of WA looks better on the charts.

The cyclone affected the wind down here a bit but really made Albany shine for 3 days

Check out Noumea, the SE tradewind blows nearly every day this time of year. It's only 2.5hr flight from Sydney and Air Calin are very generous with Windsurfing Gear. I was there in Jan and it blew 15-20kts 10 days straight. The local scene is awesome.
