Looks like he's beefed up a fair bit. Look at him before the Esperance footage begins...

One of those guys who makes the sport better simply by being in it.

^^^^ Sailing next to Philip last summer was an eye opener. His crash tolerance is phenomenally high, the stuff he went for off the lip in dumpy mast high, over 3ft deep reef, was insane. ....... awesome to watch

Very cool indeed. He seams to ride the wave as if he were riding a skate board. Also good to see a vid with the elite performing unplanned dismounts or half forward loops.

Thanks for posting

keep 'em coming, we need more inspirational vids to get us through the off season

He seemed most at home in Gnarloo and Pozo. The one handed goiters were special and his aerial work on the wave is top level. I prefer not to see the tail broken out so much, but he is ripping.

If they run the Red Bull Storm Chase again, they need him to be on it.

The one thing i hate about freestyle is that when people land they sink back in, but this guy doesn't...

Wave sailing is not the pinnacle of our sport, better than GPS though

So easy to hurt yourself for starters.

When you get past 40 and especially 50 those moves are fantasy stuff.

Enjoyed the video all the same.

You haven't seen gooey sail mate. He's by far the best on the east coast and he's way past 50

Awesome guy, awesome little video.

I think the last stalled double forward was landed, he was just falling about 20m out of the sky and he weighs 95kg's so bound to sink just a little.

Over 40? I landed my first back loop at 42. I know a lot of over 40 years olds the absolutely rip and do most of the stuff the young guys do, that's why windsurfing is an awesome "extreme" style sport, once you get the technique down even big wavesailing crashes don't hurt much, I would rather bail a big sketchy loop attempt than catapulting race gear at speed any day of the week.

Only because you have work and family and no ****ing time on water.

While there is some credence to age being a barrier the mind exaggerates it and then uses it as an easy excuse to stop and give up. Get over it.

How good is that! Very inspiring even for those well over 40.

Is the blue prototype sail an S1 or an experimental four-batten Blade?
