I think I am living a cliche. I may be turning into a grey nomad but at least I have attitude.
Well what do you think? I had an old AHD that a mate of mine, Paul "the wiz" Tentye did some surgery on to make it short enough to fit in the van. Thanks mate. Managed to get it millimetre perfect.

We are going on a trip up to our old stomping grounds of QLD and I wanted a board that I could take with us and not get in the way.
If you see me around, give me a hoy. Will be great to meet other riders. We will be in Brisbane for a couple of weeks in July and if the wind is up would love to try Redcliffe and Wellington Point just to relive old memories.
By the way, Toby won't be coming he has to work on his mouse hunting.

Good idea. Why leave your boards at home when there's some sailing to be had.

I saw that a guy in the US was running around with 'roof racks' that were just a rack hanging vertically from the back of his van. If you aren't worried about theft you could leave them there all the time.

Don't worry, Toby is being looked after by a friend of my wife's who absolutely dotes over him. The problem will be getting him back when we get home.

Lucky you, living the dream. Whats your itinery? If I was doing a tour of Australia I'd aim to head to FNQ in winter, travel across the top in Spring and get to the north part of WA and spend early summer there. Head down to west coast and then perhaps get over to SA and Lake George around late January. Not sure what I'd do after that though.

Cool you have modified the board to fit into your storage.

Cool Rig Rod. far more confortable than I invisaged ( i expected a bongo van with dents and bruises, hippie curtians, a stained matress and a sticker on the back that says "if the vans a rockin, dont bother knockin") Have a great trip north, and please post photos and stories along the way. Out of interest who sleeps in the van? The wife or the board?? (the board wont back chat....). Drop by when you ar back, would like to hear where you got to. cheers VZ
