More than a year ago I posted in the worldwide kitesurf forum a topic asking people opinion about the need of a mounting system for GoPro and similar cameras that will provide a natural and attractive POV (Point Of View) for kitesurfing. The positive feedbacks that I got , led me to found a new company that will focus on new innovative solutions for self shot videos in extreme sports. This is how Wizmount was born.

The system was born and developed mainly in kitesurfing, but as you will see in the movies, it can be used in almost any extreme sport that you can think of and especially water sports activity. I guess if you are lazy and don't want to spend time building once yourself this is ok. A mate of mine build one similar with a fishing harness and cheap PVC tubing... total cost I think was about 20$. Footage from that was on par with what they showed in the video.

DIY systems - yes, it can be done, as many other products. We also started like that. But there are so many features in this system:
- Specially designed backpack, does not absorb water, with special inner harness that really hold the mounting super stable and comfortable.
- Image stability - should compare apples to apples on same conditions and riders.
- endless angles, positions and distances to shoot from. Suitable for almost any sport
- Safety mechanism, with overload release. especially important for non-water activity sports
- Special kit for waist harness for even better stability
- System can be dis-assembled in seconds
- Backpack can be used as standard hydration backpack
- All Aluminum alloy mounts vs plastic that tend to break
- Can be easily modified to pole mount

And once we have distributor in Australia (or borrow from a friend) - you can try it for yourself and make objective judgement.

It would be better to wear the PFD over the backpack, so you can adjust the backpack straps to your body.
As the boom poles exit the backpack from its side, it should not interfere with the PFD

Just by coincidence (hadn't seen this thread) I made one a few days ago using windsurfing bits and pieces I had lying around in the garage.
Bits and pieces included Chinook base plate, Ally boom extension arm, Mountain bike handle bar attachment. ...that's pretty much it.

It attaches securely onto my waist harness and has potential for a lot of angle options thanks to the versatility of the "Mountain Bike part".
Sailed with it today for the first time. It felt really light. I couldn't really tell it was there.

Haven't checked the footage yet. If it worked ok, I will post a pic or 2.

Before posting your system in windsurfing forum, you better check it in windsurfing, and not in 10 knots flat water day.
