What a crap easter weekend my neighbour had his nail gun out doing renovations on Friday and was I so nervous and twitchy I went and hid in the cellar for the rest of the weekend.
But anyway I found this picture on a UK website.

Second post down.
Looks like everyone is getting on the bandtwinwagon. I thought they were going to bring out a SSD designed thruster.

Hi Folks,

Carbon & wood? What do guys reckon about this? Will they be up to the job? A mate of mine bought a carbon-wood wave-free board this summer (company had better remain nameless) and it lasted exactly 6 months before snapping. He got a replacement under warranty, so he's not bothered. If it was me I'd be pissed off, because I like time to get to know my board. Been sailing my 92l Evo for almost 5 years now, and we're still just starting to get to know each other...

Cheers, Jens

I don't know much about it but I thought that the beauty of wood is that it allows some flex without breaking, whereas carbon is great for stiffness.

Wood and carbon would seem to me to be natural opposites. The wood allows flex and the carbon snaps or the carbon provides stiffness and the wood's doing nothing.

As some of you already know Starboard have released the specs for an evil twin 74 and 80 evo style twin fin. The first of these boards will be available for a june/july delivery.
The same is true for the new KODE which replaces the acid / kombat line up.
The details of the new boards are available if you contact us at 2ndwind sailboards on (08) 93172916 or any Starboard dealer. Starboard have asked that we do not release the full specs online as it is still mid European season, so we will offer info to those interested privately.

The same is true for the new mistral twin RD wave board which should be here july also.
We are taking orders on 2009 gear now for those who want to get in early.
We will have some boards to demo as soon as they arrive.

For more info see the news page.

Cheers

What? Only TWO lousy fins?? If I'm gonna fork out a coupla grand for a shiny new piece of wood/carbon/fibreglass or whatever, I wanna see more fins than that! A LOT more!!

Come on Starboard and Mistral! Get it together! We, the buying public, demand MORE FINS!! How about 3 big ones, half a dozen thrusters on each side, and a row of little mini fins along the centreline, for starters? And one that fits onto the top of the mast?

Come to think of it, how about making a board with sharkskin deck (for grip) and actual shark fins underneath?? How cool would THAT be?? How nicely would all that gristle flex under pressure?? And when was the last time you saw a shark affected by spinout?
