Hallo,

My recent purchase is a Tabou da Curve 2012. Nice board with 5 Slotboxes. There is one screw missing!
I searched all 'the internets' but could not find this 'self tapping' type to order. Only a reference to Fanatic.

There are other Slotbox screw/bolts with normal machine thread but i need a self tapping screw.
Is there an alternatieve?
And it has to be in "way up" Europe.

I wonder, is the screw with the machine thread also tapped in only the plastic of the vinbox?
And why the f different threads?

Also looking for Slotbox side fins or whole set and blankers.

They're very common but yes mostly old F2, fanatic, old Tabou

I've got lots so any windsurf store should have some.
the metal thread types almost always go thru a brass insert but if it is an hex /allen key head it may just be thru plastic - albeit that it is a much better fibre reinforced plastic like the Simmer or Chinook slot boxes

more than happy to send u a couple but it might be costly post for a tiny thing!

Im not fully across taboo but that doesn't look like a Slotbox screw.. my feeling is the slot boxes have failed and so a plastic screw was used to fix the issue.. but I could be wrong.

the screw in your photo is similar to a foot strap screw.

'buying and selling a lot of boards experience tells me when a screw is missing there is an issue. I test each screw on a board before buying. Had a few occasions where issues have tried to be concealed.

that aside try Accu in the uk for a replacement or similar to your image. If you dig into the link below different head options are available.
www.accu.co.uk/30-degree-thread-profile-torx-pan-head-self-tapping-screws/371116-SHP30-5-25-A2

for proper m5 slot boxes screws I use nut and bolt in Australia.

My mate had this problem, we taped off the inside of the box and filled the hole with epoxy and carbon bits and once dry drilled it out and just screwed the screw back in and that worked, we couldn't find a tap so just used the screw itself, worked great.

Gestie they were very common back then. All the F2 wave boards for years and some others

they do just cut into the plastic

Matt his issue is lack of screw not stripped ?

Oh yes - Wark custom in Germany used them for a long time. That would be the closest unless you find an old F2 or Tabou to take screws from

Thanks everyone for the reactions!
Yes it is a missing screw not the thread.
Accu has a same-ish screw but bit to much hassle for one screw.
Have send a mail to Wark Boards in Germany. Didn't have the screws anymore.

See pic for a DIY solution:
It is held in place by one screw for now

Clever solution you have there.
If you're only trying to hold a blanker in them could also just use some silicone on the other end too as it will hold ok but be removable later
