Does anybody have experience with de RRD firestorm 2011/2012?

My local shop offers me a Firestorm 138 instead of a starboard Futura 131.
I don't know the board.

I have experience withe the Futura I had a F133 from 2010 and I still own a F111 '11 and F93 '11

I like to use the board in light wind with Freerace sails 8,5 and 9,5.

There is also a Firestorm LTD is this a carbon board?

especially on the jibes and early planning, you might not get the same top end speed as the futura but you'll have heaps more fun !! And boy do they look good !!!!!

Jez , is there such a weight difference between LTD and classic ?

I can't really see it making a difference in the range, maybe in the speed (being stiffer)..

I see that you are using the Firerace, Would did be a good board for me as well? I have Futura's and they have Turttlebox the Firestorm has a powerbox. If I buy a Firestorm I also have to buy a powerbox fin, For the firerace I dont have to becaus I already have this type of fins.

I'am an experienced surfer, but I don't want a full slalomboard. I like the plug and play .

A little late in replying Sean, as our internet in Cocos has been down..
There is carbon (UD80gm) on the deck, and for sure you can feel a pretty big difference when sailing the LTD version as compared to the W Tech. 10% dead weight makes a noticeable difference in the get up & go, as well as reducing the swing weight for maneuverability .. Looks a lot better as well!!
The 111 & 120 have been really popular with both experienced and intermediate sailors here. The comfort & easy speed make them very good for those learning to gybe, whilst their outright performance makes lagoon blasting fun.

I just bought my self two boards.

I bought the X-fire V4 129 and the X-fire V4 114
A very nice deal whit my distrubitor. . I will get them on friday, hope I can go on the water then.

Do you have any reconmendations for the fin?

I will use a C3 sting 48 for the 129. For the 114 I have to see... I will use 7,8 and 7,0 on it. Any thoughts?
