I have one of those for my wife, guess what? she is tired about them. they are so easy to realease, too easy that you're sailling and they release alone...
forget, i puted a plastic rope below the yellow "lever" to avoid release. Now, they are working like a normal harness lines.
my wife has the ajustable harness lines. but the system are equal.

I've just bought a set. only used them once no self release, time will tell. If I can make them work I will I hate the horrible feeling of being stuck under the sail hooked in.

I bought a pair to check them out and unfortunately I had trouble with them. The first time out one side opened while sailing and i realized that you have to check every time that you go out, to make sure that the locking mechanism is well set. After a couple of uneventful days I was out at a local very choppy site (Crissy field) and when I unhooked to enter a jibe one of the sides opened. I jibed and started to sail toward the beach and then the second side (now down wind) opened too ... and the line was gone ...
I talked with Point-7 and they said that something like this is unusual and should not happen. I am sure that I might have done something wrong ... but I went back to regular lines. Too bad, my whole sail quiver and one boom is Point-7 and really like their products!!!
Dakine white dual is what I recommend.
Nice to have a fairly solid and consistent product.
Wish I could buy them in bulk.
You can avoid the panic of being under the sail hooked in, by actually PRACTICING how to unhook yourself under the sail. Pick a shallow spot but lie out without your feet touching bottom. Do it a dozen times so you get a good feel for how to do it later when you fall backwards.

My wife has the ajustable, only one side is releasable, you never miss the lines :D
I used one time with a 9.4 sail, and after the jibe they release. was a big fu. do 1km without harness lines. i could hooked the lines but i had to put the sail on the water. and a 9.4 is not a 6m :D

Used them again yesterday and had no trouble with unwanted release. I was checking them as I was planing along with my back hand every now and then and found the yellow release handles did have a tendency to move down slightly maybe 5mm. I don't think they would release mid catapult though you would have to be on the ball and pull the handle. I don't know about you but when I cop a catapult its all over before I have a chance to do anything about it.
I have used them during almost 8 months now.
First time I used them I was very happy when I tried to release the line under my sail. Function: very good!
But:
They are too good. They always release 1-2 times during a windsurfing day. One time when owerpowered it released without any special movement, only by the traccion-force itself.
I shall now use them only in shallow water. Its very dangerous to catapult in shallow water, rotate in the air without release the hook from the harness-line. To be under the sail between the sail and buttom is a near death sensation. Therfore, I will still use it in flatwater/shallow water.
A part from that: I have used various harnesses and the absolutely best mechanism to release the hook is the PROLIMIT-hook. As I prefere to sail with the Dakine harness, I simply changed the Dikine-hook by a prolimit hook. The Dikine hook do not function att all.

Yes I also have always had pro limit harness and I think this is the best safety option. I have tied a small loop with downhaul rope about 50mm through the red release tag on mine and it makes it much easier to find and pull quickly

some photos of simple but effective improvement. In my 20 years of windsurfing (flat water only) the only threat to my safety has been being stuck under the sail hooked in several times. I think it deserves attention and every sailor should have a plan for action if/when this happens.
Very good idea. I will do the same with an extra Red tail about 5 cm.

I think most modern windsurf bars have some sort of quick release. Best would seem to be a hinge system that does not require to pull a pin, like the ION I am using.
