Awesome weekend. Sat/Sunday was 8 - 12 kts however Monday was 20 kts AM building to 30 kts after lunch. Some guys stayed on the water until after dark and were sailing with helmet lights. A few guys I spoke to where posting pb's on there GPS's of 40 - 42 kts during the late afternoon sessions. It was fantastic just going and joining in not knowing anyone but ended up speaking to heaps of people and getting some great tips. Some guys had travelled from interstate to get involved - they where not disappointed when they posted PB's on there GPS despite one guy being wiped out by a kiter's board at 40 kts and losing skin and his gps. Spoke to SHQ and the event has been going for 20+ years. - missed out on a lot of good times on hearing some of the stories!! Got to meet a lot of Seabreeze members(missed a heap also) which was great - roll on 2009.
The guy from NSW was using a Garmin without any bag or box and no form of safety strap on his strap.Alastair (Kite Boy ,not the pirate) was also trying for speed, wiped out and lost his board.Floating kite boards are hard to see in the water. Al also went kiting with us later that night. He might be the first kiter to do so.Respect anyone who just wants to push their limits

Flicky you must have been one of the few who had a look behind before spinning, flicking, bouncing and jibing. Nearly nailed one guy who cut across the front of me ,flicked and crashed. Lucky i had shut down and was ready for something silly. When done right it looked amazing. Huge amount skill, much better to watch than us going fast.
