Seems to be a lot of L300's and Starwagons around for cheap..... but hiaces high demand for tradies, so get snapped up quick.....
I'd rather not anything I'd get precious about and want to save for a house :/ So am on the cheap.....
Ive been looking around too. Hiaces are the right size (about 2600mm of load space in the swb models) but as you say they are either snapped up quickly or over priced. The
L300 may be a bit too short unless you find an lwb vesion. Ive owned four mitsi cars and all were perfectly reliable. Econovans and the Mazda counterpart have an good reputation but may also be a bit short depending on model. Personally I want to find one long enough to take my longest board. If you go too short you might as well have bought a station wagon.
