Hi folks,

Looking at purchasing a 7m warp 2018 hardly used for freeriding Botany Bay and the south coast and have heard mixed comments on this sail, in terms of ease of use and stuff breaking.

Will have to get a matching mast for it as well, not an issue.

Wondering if anyone could comment on their experiences with this sail?

Cheers

I used to have RAM (3cam slightly detuned WARP) for freerideing, it was a poor choice in retrospect but maybe great for racing. Race sails are designed to win races with shifts in wind directions on the course, and big changes in wind strengths sailing in the pack, and the design considerations (big sails, lot of cams, wide mast sleeve, very floopy leech) lessen the fun for freeriding. 2-cam sails seem a good compromise,

Nothing to worry about with the North/Duotone warps. Very capable and easy to use/rig/tune slalom sails. Durability wise, I've found them to be good. I've had the odd batten breakage, but this can happen with most brands. I figured out a few years ago, most batten breakages happen when de-rigging. Instead of just releasing all the downhaul when de-rigging, leave a little tension on the downhaul, then pop the cams off manually, then release the remaining downhaul. I've not had a batten break since doing it this way.

My quiver of 2017 warps are hands-down the strongest, toughest, most long lasting sails I've ever had.
